Welcome to Poetry Alive.

Bob Falls

President

Bob Falls, President of Poetry Alive! is originally from Chase City, Virginia. He currently resides in Asheville, NC with his wife Holly Jones and their daughter Gabriela.

Bob founded Poetry Alive! on August 15, 1984. Having received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Virginia Tech, he has always been an avid lover of poetry. His first poetry gig was in the fourth grade when he and a good friend performed poems together on a local AM radio station in Chase City, VA.

To Bob, the most rewarding piece of Poetry Alive! is when he hears back from teachers and students about how they now see poetry in a different and more accessible way than before they attended a Poetry Alive! performance

Bob’s favorite poem is “If” by Rudyard Kipling and his motto is “I learn by going where I have to go…” from “The Waking” by Theodore Roethke.
